100 RUNS IN 100 DAYS: CAN THEY DO IT?
On December 1, 2009, several Oak Lawn Community High School staff members set a goal: 100 runs in 100 days. The 100 days ends March 10, 2010, exactly 100 days later. It doesnt matter what ability level you are, just as long as you can run consistently for 30 minutes. To qualify, runners must run/jog for at least 30 minutes straight. Mileage does not matter! It can be outdoors, indoors, or even on a treadmill, but it must be running. Walking does not count: there must be two feet off the ground at some point in every stride and there must be forward motion, so 30 minutes of jumping jacks will not count. Those who qualify for the Platinum Club, 100 runs in 100 days, are most often experienced runners. Gold Club qualifiers run 90 runs in 100 days and Silver Club qualifiers complete 80 runs in 100 days. A realistic goal for inexperienced runners is the Bronze Club, 70 runs in 100 days. Good luck, Spartans!
